Resolution
Hi Michael,

The project team has ensured that existing single-family neighborhoods honor a traditional neighborhood design through the creation of a new Unifiedd Development Code, which is a separate project, and the official set of development regulations that everyone has to follow, as well as the Place Types Map and Spectrum of Change Maps in the draft Comprehensive Plan. View those here:

Unified Development Code (UDC) files - Visit addisonudc.org and review two files: The "Unified Development Code" and the "Proposed Zoning Map."

Zoning Map - Review your property to see which zoning district it will become once redesignated in 2025.
UDC - Look at section 3.4, Residential Zoning Districts to see dimensional standards, and 4.2, Table of Allowed Uses to see permitted uses in your zone. Questions? Contact Development Services Assistant Director Korrie Becht using the Town Staff directory.

Anyone requesting to rezone a property must align with the Comprehensive Plan, once adopted. The Comprehensive Plan preserves our existing single-family neighborhoods. View the detailed explanation on Plan PDF pages 112-134.

Answer
Hi Raj!

I recommend reviewing a few documents online that detail our investments in infrastructure. Konvieo limits one hyperlink per comments, so I'll add directions on how to find these online below. Fiscal budgets are published here: link

Public Works and Engineering Design Standards, including underground utilities, drainage, etc can be found here: addisontx.gov>Government>Departments>Public-WorksandEngineering>EngineeringandConstructionInspections>Design-Standards .

Further investment in our infrastructure through Parks and Trails are outlined in our Parks Master Plans here: parks.addisontx.gov>ParkDevelopment>ParksRelatedMasterPlans

I recommend reviewing the budgets to see how our Council and City Management have invested in improvements, as well as reviewing the bond programs to see how additional funding is secured for high-priority major investments that merge several departments' long-term goals.

Question
I commend Addison/town for engaging this effort. However the focus on the user side of things leaves a lot of core questions and basic infrastructure unanswered.

1. How can I attract more technical and engineering talent into Addison if the city's infrastructure (Roads, utilities) are in such disarray/

2. It is great to develop all this new structure (apartments, FBO's, customs buildings etc.) but without the needed core artery infrastructure like buried utilities, fiber, and other critical infrastructure areas - Addison will not be able to take steps forward.

3. Suggest that a serious effort is put together to address the utilities (water, electrical, cable) is undertaken to match the desire for the end result of structure that is desired.

4. Currently the developments proposed will over-tax the internal capabilities and utilization supply side that is a poor way to advance a town. It will only cause more issues and cost more in the future.

5. A Infrastructure development plan in parallel is required in order to support not only residents, but businesses, and the airport.

6. How soon before these parallel issues can be addressed?
.
I've lived in Addison for over 20 years and in that time, City Council has consistently approved new apartment buildings when the public is against these developments. It's sad that nothing is being done to slow their growth - only encourage bigger and faster development. I am convinced that if my single family home burned down tomorrow, city council would rezone my property to try and fit in another apartment building!
